We are in the process of the final accreditation for ESO

 

With a mixed group of four age groups, the secondary environment offers a new blueprint for active and meaningful learning where the student becomes the creator of his or her experience. It is currently with the provisional approval and is expected to obtain the final approval from Gencat at the end of the 2023-24 school year.

Our environment and pedagogical accompaniment recognizes the needs of this maturity stage and offers opportunities to learn from experience, creation and contribution to society.


In response to their vital needs of construction and response to "who am I? and what am I here to do?", we offer a joint co-creation of knowledge and learning, not only academic but also the acquisition of skills that will help them discover and develop their vocation and life purpose.

The educators accompany each young person to: 
 

  • move between freedom and responsibility

    to discover and explore their "self

  • to initiate a respectful path with oneself through self-expression and self-expression.

  • to go through and build together their moral development and actions of service to the community.

  • to achieve by their own efforts

  • to find healthy methods (both physical and psychological) to solve problems and attend to their vital doubts.

  • continue to grow from respect by acquiring a concept of respectful sexuality

  • developing their spiritual balance
     

 

Areas

 

  • Agora: Philosophy - Dialogic education, Decision-making, Sharing, Debates, Problem identification and approach, Music, dance, singing, Celebrations. Through weekly assemblies exercise and share the ability to actively participate in the care and transformation of their environment as well as decision-making by consensus. 

  • Personal work:

  • Work Cycles: scheduled curricular content, uninterrupted;

  • Development: introduction (30 minutes) - scheduled seminars and group classes - activity cycles;

    • Activities: problem solving; scientific method; different perspectives; thinking and learning styles;

    • Group projects; seminars and group classes; lectures; research; models and designs;

    • Study activities: individual and group;

    • Knowledge and skills.

  • Productive Projects: language, creative writing, critical thinking skills and self-expression.

  • Languages: Different official English exams are conducted and work areas such as science and art are taught in English.

  • Technology: Selection, configuration and programming of digital devices, Use of applications for document production. Image editing: still and moving images. Digital Information: Research and sensitive selection. Strategies in information processing. Building new knowledge. Knowledge societies: virtual environments. Interpersonal communication and virtual publications. Communication systems and digital work environment. Responsible use of technology and understanding ethical and safety issues in the use of electronic devices.

  • Permaculture: Introduction to permaculture. The environment: climate, fields, mapping and design. Bioconstruction. Renewable energies and appropriate technologies. Water management. Livestock and integrated management. Permaculture agriculture and gardening design. Edible forest or forest garden. Permaculture and Community - culture of unparalleled care.

  • Entrepreneurship: microeconomics, critical thinking of the current labor situation, self-sustainable, social and respectful entrepreneurship. Finance: budgets and organization, family or business; current economic model and trends. Seeing and studying different business realities (critical thinking) with entities from different sectors: health, environment, communication, technology and agriculture. Materialization processes. Business plans. Projects necessary for the Earth.

  • During the course of the school year, they take part in different workshops, developing new skills, putting their competencies into action, exploring and strengthening their own talents, thus recovering ancestral human abilities.

  • Trades and professions outings: learning outside Akua every 5 weeks, and for a full week, we go out to meet different companies and professionals from various sectors, where they know the reality, the implementation of many contents, providing inspiration and clarity to choose what they will want to focus on in their near future.

  • Management and participation in school outings for cultural purposes and knowledge of the outside world.

  • Inner development and ethical values.

  • Self-assessment: we accompany them to become aware of their own learning process, setting goals, self-correcting, with their achievements and improvements, always guided by their teachers.

  • Tutoring: biweekly follow-up tutorials in all areas of development.
