Caminata

On Friday’s at Akua both our elementary and preschool students go on a nature walk around the property of our school. It’s an important time to learn, explore, and get some fresh air! Because Akua is based on Montessori and Waldorf principles, we think it’s imperative that our students learn about plants and animals and the correct way to treat our earth. These nature walks are a perfect time to put that learning to the test and allow kids the opportunity to see new bugs and animals and learn about their natural habitat.

Last Friday our preschoolers went for a short walk where they learned about different cacti, inspected a 6-legged bug, and ate a nutritious snack. The trip was filled with inquisitive minds asking about their surroundings and having fun with their classmates!
